Reducing the risk of obesity in children

Childhood obesity has become more and more preoccupying during the last few years, with an increase of 16% today, from 5% in overweightness in 1990. This increasing curve in childhood obesity came from a change in eating habits and lifestyle : children eat more and more processed food full of sugar and hidden fat. They also spend a lot of time indoors and in front of a screen, instead of taking part in a sports activity or playing outdoors.
To help fight against this growing health condition, try to limit snacking in between meals and make your children learn how to like and opt for fruits instead of a chocolate bar as a snack option. Also make outdoor activities fun and interesting habit for your child so that he uses any excess energy consumed and in return will contribute to him falling asleep easily when it is bedtime !
